Yemen’s interior minister announced on Tuesday that 21 experts from Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and Lebanon’s Hezbollah are assisting the Houthi militia in military operations. The officials stated that these experts are involved in ballistic missile development, drone operations, and maritime attacks. The involvement is said to extend beyond training and arms supplies to strategic command.

Interior Minister Ibrahim Haidan issued a statement confirming the presence of 14 Revolutionary Guard experts and seven Hezbollah specialists working with the Houthi group. The report highlights a significant escalation in the level of external support for the Houthi forces. The experts are reportedly aiding in the planning and execution of military campaigns.

This development comes amid heightened tensions in the region. Earlier on Tuesday, Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, condemned the potential return to war, stating it would benefit no one. The remarks followed reports of US strikes on an Iranian island in the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that two US drones were shot down near Bandar Khamir. The IRGC also claimed that tankers were hit by naval mines in the area.

The involvement of foreign experts in the Houthi conflict underscores the complex geopolitical dynamics in the region. The situation reflects ongoing efforts by external actors to influence local conflicts, raising concerns about the stability of the area.
