Pakistan has set October 20 as the final deadline for pilgrims selected under the government Hajj scheme to pay the second installment of their pilgrimage fees. The religious affairs ministry announced the date late Friday.

The government allocated 107,526 slots for the Hajj pilgrimage, including 30,000 for a shorter package, under its official scheme. An additional 71,696 slots were allocated to the private scheme for next year’s Hajj. All government scheme seats have been booked online.

The Hajj pilgrimage is a major religious event for Muslims. Pilgrims travel to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to perform rituals at the holy sites. The government scheme aims to provide affordable and organized travel options for citizens.

This year’s Hajj season is expected to see a large number of participants. The deadline for the second payment installment is part of the government’s efforts to manage the logistics and financial aspects of the pilgrimage. The ministry emphasized that all seats under the government scheme are fully booked.

The Hajj has long been a significant cultural and religious event in Pakistan. The government has been working to streamline the process and ensure that pilgrims can participate without major disruptions. The deadline for payments is a key step in this process.
