The Yemeni Air Force executed 20 airstrikes targeting Houthi positions in Taiz Governorate. The attacks, carried out by warplanes, focused on movements, reinforcements, and military equipment belonging to the Houthis. The spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed the strikes hit enemy targets directly, disrupting rebel operations.
The raids occurred over three hours and were part of ongoing military efforts to counter Houthi advances. The attacks targeted vehicles and gathering points in residential areas of Taiz, which is located approximately 100 kilometers from Mokha. The Yemeni military reported that the strikes inflicted damage on Houthi infrastructure and personnel.
The conflict in Yemen has intensified in recent months, with clashes between government forces and Houthi rebels escalating in eastern Taiz. The Houthis, backed by Iran, have been engaged in a prolonged conflict with the internationally recognized Yemeni government. The latest airstrikes follow reports of Houthi attacks on a power distribution station in the city of Mokha, which the rebels claim as part of their strategy to weaken government control. The situation remains volatile, with both sides continuing to escalate military actions in the region.
