Saudi Arabia has launched military strikes against Houthi militant positions in Yemen following two deadly attacks on Saudi airports. The attacks, which killed three civilians and injured dozens, targeted Abha International Airport in Asir province and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The Saudi-led coalition confirmed intercepting two missiles aimed at Riyadh, with one missile reportedly fired from Yemen.
The Houthi group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, which occurred on Wednesday. Saudi authorities reported three civilian deaths and at least 36 injuries. The attacks were described by Arab and regional leaders as violations of international law and threats to civilian safety. In response, the Saudi-led coalition announced the destruction of 82 Houthi targets in Yemen.
The conflict in Yemen, which has been ongoing since 2015, involves the Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, and a Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s government. The attacks mark one of the deadliest incidents in the war so far. The Saudi-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes in Yemen to counter Houthi advances. The situation remains volatile, with both sides continuing their military operations.
