The UAE Cabinet has approved a federal budget plan for 2027–2029 totaling 292.5 billion UAE dirhams. This amounts to approximately $79.6 billion. The plan includes an initial allocation of 90.1 billion dirhams for 2027. Social development is set to receive the largest share of the budget.
The approval was announced by the Cabinet, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He holds the positions of UAE vice president, prime minister, and ruler of Dubai. The decision covers both the three-year plan and the 2027 budget. The three-year allocation represents a 28.3 percent increase compared to the previous three-year plan.
This budget reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to economic diversification and social progress. The increased funding for social development underscores the government’s focus on improving public services and quality of life. The plan also includes investments in infrastructure, technology, and sustainable development.
The UAE has been actively pursuing economic reforms to reduce reliance on oil and promote private sector growth. This budget aligns with broader national strategies aimed at enhancing economic resilience and long-term stability. The approval marks a significant step in the country’s financial planning for the coming years.
