Yemeni forces accused the Iran-backed Houthis of a deadly missile attack on a market in Taiz province, killing at least 30 civilians. The attack occurred in the Waziyah district on Friday. A military spokesperson, Majed Al-Nuzaili, stated the Houthis fired a ballistic missile at Al-Hadara market. He called the attack a war crime and demanded accountability.

The Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for the strike, reporting at least 20 casualties. Their official said the airstrike targeted a market in southwestern Yemen, marking one of the deadliest attacks since hostilities resumed between the Houthis and Saudi-backed government forces.

The conflict in Yemen has intensified in recent months, with frequent clashes between Houthi rebels and government forces supported by Saudi Arabia. The Houthis, backed by Iran, have been accused of multiple attacks on civilian areas. This incident adds to the growing toll of civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict.

The attack highlights the escalating violence in the region, with both sides accusing each other of targeting civilians. International calls for de-escalation have increased, but no immediate resolution is expected. The situation remains volatile, with humanitarian concerns rising as the conflict continues.
