Pakistan will host a five-day United Nations-Pakistan climate conference in Islamabad starting on October 27, according to the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). The conference, titled "Leveraging Space Technology for Early Warning for All (EW4All), Climate Action and Disaster Risk Assessment," aims to explore how space-based technologies can improve weather forecasting and disaster preparedness.

Pakistan, which is among the most vulnerable countries to climate change and natural disasters, has increasingly relied on space technologies to enhance its response capabilities. The conference will bring together international experts and policymakers to share knowledge and strategies for mitigating climate risks. SUPARCO will inaugurate the event, highlighting the country's growing investment in space research and its application to environmental challenges.

The conference follows a series of climate-related initiatives by Pakistan, including the development of satellite systems for early warning systems and disaster management. With rising concerns over extreme weather events and environmental degradation, the event underscores the nation's commitment to using advanced technology as a tool for climate resilience. The discussions will also focus on regional cooperation and the role of international partnerships in addressing shared environmental threats.
