Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned Indian citizens against being drawn into Russia's war in Ukraine, emphasizing the risks of foreign nationals being exploited by Moscow. During a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, Zelenskyy highlighted the alarming trend of individuals from countries like India being used by Russia in its ongoing conflict. He called on their home governments to protect their citizens and prevent further involvement in the war.
Zelenskyy also revealed that Ukraine has transferred two North Korean prisoners of war to South Korea, following months of diplomatic efforts between Kyiv and Seoul. The soldiers were captured in Russia’s Kursk region in 2025. Meanwhile, Russia has intensified its strikes in Ukraine, killing seven people in a single attack. The strikes have targeted communication infrastructure, with the level of violence matching the intensity seen at the start of the invasion.
In separate developments, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed to Zelenskyy that the ongoing attacks on Black Sea vessels by Russia and Ukraine are unjustifiable. Both sides have been urged to cease hostilities. Additionally, wheat imports from Russia and Ukraine have become more costly due to disruptions in documentation processes for shipments.
